Table 1. Footprints Section Contents

Field Description
Footprints Lists the footprints created for the device. The device can have multiple footprints. Click on a footprint to display the mappings of device pins to connector cavities for that footprint in the Cavity mapping table.
New Footprint Adds a new footprint to the footprint list. A popup window is displayed enabling you to enter a name for the footprint and specify its footprint type.
Name The name of the footprint. Click in this field to edit it. Clicking V in the field displays a list of all available footprints for selection. The icon prior to the name indicates whether the footprint is a harness connector footprint or device connector footprint.
Copy Footprint Copies the selected footprint in the list and creates a new footprint using the selected one as a template. You can then edit the details of the copy.
More Options Opens a popup window allowing you to either: Set the selected footprint as the default; Convert (Harness Connector) to Device Connector (Note: You cannot change from a harness connector to a device connector footprint if a device connector footprint already exists); Convert (Device Connector) to Harness Connector; Delete — to remove the selected footprint from the list.
View / Select Connector Displays the details for all connectors in the component library to enable you to select the required connector for the footprint. Click again to assign the selected connector.
Connector Displays the connectors used in the footprint. The header of this table enables you to filter the display depending on the name of the footprint.
Part Number Displays the component part number assigned to the footprint connector. Click to display the details of all connectors in the component library to search for the required part number.
Cavity Displays the cavity details. If there is an issue with a connector, such as unassigned connector cavities, its number is displayed in red.
Pin Displays the device pins that are mated to the connectors and the pin mapped to a connector cavity.
