Designs

The information that is contained within a project is arranged into distinct sub-containers called designs. Designs are versional data containers that can have their contents copied as required. A design is usually created for each sub-system of a product line and contains diagrams created in one of the design applications.

A project can have data added from many of the Capital applications and can contain different types of designs: platform designs, functional designs, logical designs, Capital Wiring Integrator designs, Capital Systems Integrator designs and harness designs. Icons are used in the Project Browser to differentiate different types of designs. See Icons in Browsers.

Designs you create in Capital Logic Designer are called logical designs and can be “system designs”, where connections are represented using Nets, or “wiring designs”, where devices and connectors are connected with Wires. Within a design you can create multiple Diagrams to show different layouts / views of the design.
