Failure Cases for Place Inline

There are various cases in which the Place Inline action can fail.

The action may fail or be restricted under the following scenarios:

• No graphical representation: Wires do not have a graphical representation or there are no valid wires with a graphical representation.

• Non-shared inline restriction: A non-shared inline connector is already associated and the current inline connector needs to be shared to be inserted into multiple designs.

• Permission limitations: The user does not have sufficient permissions to modify the design abstraction.

• Lock failures: The required lock on the design abstraction cannot be acquired.

• Shared object frozen: The object to be shared is in a frozen state, preventing modifications.

• Release level requirement: The release level requires the shared object to be frozen.

• Multiple abstractions: The inline needs to be inserted into more than one design abstraction in the same action.

• Duplicate share inline: More than one shared inline exists with the same name in the same abstraction.

In the case of multicores, the action may fail to add shield terminations in the following scenarios:

• Insufficient cavities.
