Status Bar

To access: Displays along the bottom of the application.

The status bar section of the application window, provides feedback as you perform a variety of actions. To hide the status bar, press Space Bar and enter Toggle Status Bar. Repeat to show the status bar.

Objects

Object	Description
Progress Bar	Indicates when a task is running in the background. This displays only in a Windows environment. It displays for most actions but there are some scenarios where it may not display.
Message Bar	The area to the left of the status bar displays tips relevant to the currently selected tool.
Symbol Lock to Node	This icon () specifies whether to lock component symbols to mid‑bundle and bundle end component nodes, to enable the symbols and nodes to be moved together. Click the icon to toggle between On and Off. See also “Project Preferences for Capital Harness Designer and Capital Harness Designer Modular Designs” in the Capital Design Tools - Common Functions User Guide.
Node Positioning Visual Aids	This icon () specifies whether visual aids are displayed, which provide you with additional feedback about the cursor position on a bundle when adding, moving or duplicating reference node objects, or when adding a new bundle structure node to an existing bundle. Click the icon to toggle between On and Off. See also Using Visual Aids for Node Positioning.
Manipulation Handles	This icon () specifies whether the Manipulation Handles are displayed when you hover over or select a segment on a bundle. Click the icon to toggle between On and Off. The software remembers your selection as a user setting, so your preference is available on all diagrams and when the application is opened.
Show/Hide Grid	This icon () specifies whether grid points are displayed on the diagram. Even if this is set to Off so grid points are not displayed, they still exist and objects that would otherwise snap to the grid continue to do so. Click the icon to toggle between On and Off. See also Setting Grid Defaults for a Diagram.
Object Snap	This icon () specifies when adding or modifying a comment graphic, you can position it to automatically “Snap To” alignment with another graphic in a diagram. Click the icon to toggle between On and Off. See also Setting Snap To Object.
Grid Snap	This icon () specifies whether electrical objects snap to the drawing grid (Grid Snap: On) or not (Grid Snap: Off). Click the icon or press Shift-G to toggle between On and Off.
Polar Mode	This icon () specifies whether polar mode is active (Polar Mode: On) or not (Polar Mode: Off). Click the icon or press Shift-P to toggle between On and Off. Polar mode affects the following drawing actions: Drawing and rotating bundles: Grid Snap: On / Polar Mode: On — bundles snap to the vertices (vertical and horizontal lines) of the drawing grid. Grid Snap: On / Polar Mode: Off — bundles snap to the points of the drawing grid. Grid Snap: Off / Polar Mode: On — bundles snap to a multiple of the RotationAngleRoundingValue specified for the current style set, or the angle of the previous bundle from which the current bundle is drawn. Grid Snap: Off / Polar Mode: Off — bundles can be positioned at any angle. Repositioning junction nodes in non-full scale diagrams: Grid Snap: On / Polar Mode: On — nodes can only be moved along a vector matching one of the bundles ending at that node. Also, the node snaps to the vertices (vertical and horizontal lines) of the drawing grid. Grid Snap: On / Polar Mode: Off — nodes snap to the points of the drawing grid. Grid Snap: Off / Polar Mode: On — nodes can only be moved along a vector matching one of the bundles ending at that node. Grid Snap: Off / Polar Mode: Off — nodes can be moved with no restriction.
Associated Wire Path Highlighting	This icon () specifies whether wire path highlighting is displayed. Click the icon or press Shift-H to toggle between On and Off. See also Wire Path Highlighting.
Enable/Disable Proportional Stretching	The Proportional Bundle Stretching icon () specifies if the system is to provide automatic proportional repositioning of nodes when bundles are resized. Click the icon to toggle between On and Off. See also Using Proportional Bundle Stretch.
Enable/Disable Crosshairs	Changes the mouse cursor to and from crosshair mode. See also “Changing the Cursor to Crosshair Mode” in the Capital Design Tools - Common Functions User Guide.
Design Rule Checks Toggle	(Start Background Run / Stop Background Run) Indicates whether design rule checks are running in the background. Click the toggle button (Play icon) to start the checks running in the background. When running, the toggle button changes to a square (Stop icon) to click to stop the checks running: The symbol next to the toggle button (Start / Stop icon) indicates whether the checks have currently found failures or not.
Select Count	This field displays the number of objects currently selected.
Location	This field displays the position of the cursor relative to the center of the diagram, in the Unit specified for the diagram. See “Unit” in the Capital Diagram Styling User Guide to configure the Unit.
Background tasks/Auto recovery backup	Indicates when the system is saving an auto recovery backup. No background tasks running () Performing auto recovery backup ()
Username	Hover over this icon to display the name of the current user and any assigned roles ().
Active Language	Indicates which diagram translation language is active. Default is EN (English).
