Converting User Accounts into User Based License Policy Accounts
You can convert user accounts that use group based license policies, into user accounts that use individual user based license policies. Existing accounts can be converted one at a time, as a group, or all at once.
Procedure
Perform one of the following tasks.
| If you want to ... | Do the following; |
|---|---|
| Convert one or more user accounts. | In the Capital Access Manager browser tree, click on a user account, then shift-click any additional user accounts to be converted. Note You can press shift and drag the mouse to form a box around a group of user accounts you want to select. Right-click any of the selected user accounts and choose Convert Selected User Account to User Based License Policy Accounts from the popup dialog box. |
| Convert all existing user accounts in one step. | In the Capital Access Manager browser tree, right-click the User Accounts node, and choose Convert All Existing Account to User Based License Policy Accounts from the popup dialog box. |
Results
The licenses previously included in a license policy assigned by a User Group are now made available to the individual user account. Figure 12: User Account License Policy Tab
When either a Derived Access Control (DAC) or Non-DAC type user account is converted to use User Based License Policy, the user is removed from the User Group but will retain the Roles, Domains and the License Policies available on the User Account. See Derived Access Control for more detail.
In case of Non-DAC user, if the user is part of user group then the License Policy tab is made visible and is read-only but all other tabs would be editable for that user.
Caution
If you import data created using the user based license policy into an older version of Capital that does not support user based license policies, the license policy on the user account will be removed. By default a user with no license policy applied is allowed to use all available add-on licenses.
