Introduction

Capital Logic Designer is the design tool that is used to capture the logical connectivity of electrical systems, applicable to one or more harnesses. Capital Logic Designer is at the core of both the interactive flow and the generative flow.

You can translate Logical connectivity captured in Capital Logic Designer into physical connectivity interactively within Capital Logic Designer or by synthesizing wiring from logical connectivity using Capital Systems Integrator. See “Synthesizing Wiring” in the Capital Systems Integrator User Guide.

Designs you create in Capital Logic Designer are called logical designs and can be “system designs”, where connections are represented using Nets, or “wiring designs”, where devices and connectors are connected with Wires. When a logical design is complete it can be synchronized in Capital Harness Designer to produce harness designs. See “Harness Synchronization” in the Capital Harness Designer User Guide.

You can use Capital Logic Designer in conjunction with Capital Wiring Integrator to capture logical connectivity on a topological design, and Capital Schematic Generator for Logic Designer to create diagrams in Capital Logic Designer based on an existing set of connectivity data imported from an external system. Designs produced in Capital Logic Designer can be re‑purposed in Capital E/E Publisher to produce service documentation.

Note

To use the Capital Wiring Integrator functionality, you must launch Capital Logic Designer with Capital Wiring Integrator enabled. See Launching Capital Logic Designer.

You can run Capital Logic Designer in Single‑User mode or Multi‑User mode to facilitate more than one user working concurrently in a design. See Multi-User Access to Capital Logic Designer Designs.
