Administering Domains, Roles and Users
Permissions
Permissions may be set for each role or user account. Selecting a permission enables that function for the user - if a permission is not selected, the user will be unable to perform that function.
See the following topics for descriptions of the user permissions and lists of the actions that are impacted by them.
For permission groups that have an expanding folder (for example, Edit Library), selecting/deselecting the group title option will automatically select/deselect all of the permissions within that group. Selecting/deselecting the Capital Permissions option at the top of the Permissions list will automatically select/deselect all of the permissions in the list.
Note
The Permissions tab has a filter box to enable permission searches. For more details on filter use, see Browser Tab and Dialog Box Filters in the Capital Design Tools - Common Functions User Guide.
Caution
The following applies to the listed permissions:
Permissions relate not only to interactive, user-interface edits but also to importing data in various formats as well.
Some of the actions listed are data specific and check for the user permission only if that particular type of data is involved in performing the action. For example: If a user has no Design Abstraction permission, the Copy advanced action will fail if the copy of a design requires the creation of new design abstraction at the target.
The lists of actions covered in these sections are not exhaustive. They have been created based on overall analysis and tests covering most commonly-used flows.
