Diagnostics

Use this dialog to specify options for creating and managing diagnostic procedures.

Objects

Field Description
Navigation Buttons The Publisher Configuration Editor navigation buttons allow you to open existing Diagnostic procedures, save changes and access the Help documentation.
Diagnostic Procedure The buttons in the Diagnostic Procedures panel allow you to add procedures by clicking (), or remove existing procedures by clicking (). The number of available procedures is shown in the top right hand side of this panel.
Folder Specify a Folder name to define a folder path for the diagnostic procedures. If sub-folders are required use a delimiter (default character is “\”) to define the hierarchy of the folder path. (Optional)
Name Insert a name for your diagnostic trouble code using alphanumeric characters.
Description Insert a description for your diagnostic trouble code using alphanumeric characters.
Panel Buttons The panel navigation buttons allow you to add, remove or change the sequence of items in the Diagnostic Steps and Details panels. They work identically in all cases.
Diagnostic Steps Create diagnostic procedures for your technician to follow in the Diagnostic Steps panel by clicking (). Click () if you wish to remove step from the list. Click () or () to change the sequence of the selected step within the procedure.
Details
Instructions Enter detailed instructions for the service technician to follow. Distinguish whether these instructions are explanatory Notes for information purposes or Actions to be followed by clicking in the Type field and selecting the relevant option.
Decisions Enter the expected outcome of the procedure in the Results field. Depending on the result you can add a link to a step in the diagnostic procedure sequence for further action or validation by clicking in the Go To field and selecting from the available sequences. The sequence is tied to the number of the diagnostic step and any changes to the step sequence will update in the Go To field.A number of different results can be listed, each with its own link to a specific sequence in the procedure.
