How pin mapping and ICD associations are stored

Pin mapping and ICD association data is stored as properties directly on the Platform Component — not in a separate hidden file or database record.

This means:

  • Users may view, edit, or delete these properties directly if necessary (e.g. to manually correct a bad mapping or clear an ICD association without redoing the whole mapping workflow).
  • Because the data lives on the component itself, it travels with the component through normal Capital project operations (copy, revise, etc.) the same way any other property would.

Edit with care — directly editing these properties bypasses the validation that the Pin Mapping UI performs (e.g. it won't warn you if you assign a pin that doesn't exist on the associated device/ICD).
