Project Browser

The Project Browser is located on the upper left side of the application window.

The Project Browser contains:

Close Project button ()

Closes the project currently being viewed.

Project dropdown list Lists the currently open projects that are available to select view. See Using Projects.
Browser tree Lists the build lists, plans, studies, and designs that have been created for the project. To expand a folder or node, click the plus sign (+). To collapse a folder or node, click the minus sign (-). Alternatively, you can double‑click the name of a folder or node to expand / collapse it. You can right-click a folder or node and select Expand All to: For a design revision node: expand the node to show the diagrams it contains and, for a composite harness design revision, the derivative design revisions it contains.

For any other folder or node: expand the node and all its sub-nodes, with the exception of design revision nodes.

You can right-click a folder or node and select Collapse to collapse it, or select Collapse All to collapse the node and all its sub-nodes. Design folders contain nodes for each design revision. Each design revision contains the diagrams in that revision.

String-based filter (/)

In the field next to the Enter Filter String icon () enter a series of characters. A filter is applied to the browser tree so that only designs with names containing that series of characters are listed. The behavior of the filter varies depending on whether you use wildcards and the case (upper or lower) of the specified characters. See also “Browser Tab and Dialog Box Filters” in the Capital Design Tools - Common Functions User Guide. Click the Clear Filter String icon () to clear the filter.

Filter dropdown list ()

Select an option in the dropdown list to filter the designs displayed in the browser tree to those of a particular type, all designs in the project, all designs in the currently active build list or all the designs and build lists in your working set.

Tip

You can press the space bar and enter Toggle Browser Area to show / hide the Project Browser and other browsers.
