Project Preferences

Project preferences are default settings that you specify for the designs and diagrams in a project.

You specify project preferences in the Project Preference Dialog Box, which is accessed by pressing Space Bar and entering Project Preferences. You can also edit them in Capital Project Manager by opening a project, expanding the Project Browser Tree for that project, and then right‑clicking the Preferences node and selecting Edit.

Note

Some preferences work alongside Capital styling to control the appearance of objects on diagrams. For example, the “Use Style Set Cross-reference” project preference determines whether the appearance of cross-references on diagrams is determined by the cross-reference project preference settings or by the settings in the style set applied to the diagram. All new and existing designs within a project automatically inherit the project preferences of the project. If a preference (for example, Device Connector Width) is specified for an object type, the project preference setting is applied whenever a new instance of that object type is added to a design.
