Assigning the CCRS.AUTH User

Role

To enable Cable Route Approval and display the Authorize Cable Routes icon in Capital Cable Router, System Administrators must create and configure the CCRS.AUTH user role in Capital Cable Router Admin and associate the role with each required project and user account.

Prerequisites

  • To enable cable authorization, the CCRS menu definition must be available. If the CCRS menu definition is unavailable in Capital Cable Router Admin, create the definition using the first task in the procedure.

Procedure

Perform the following steps:

Create the CCRS menu definition. Double-click General administration > System Administration > Menus and Roles > Menu Definition. The Menu Definition window is displayed. Click the Create new record button (). Type CCRS in the Option field. Click the Type dropdown list and select Menu. Type CCRS UI features and functions in the Description field. Click the Save button () to save the CCRS menu definition. Click the Close button () to close the Menu Definition window.
Add the Cable Authorization option. Double-click General administration > System Administration > Menus and Roles > Menu Definition. The Menu Definition window is displayed. Click the Enter query conditions button (). Type CCRS in the Option field, and then click the Execute query button () to display the CCRS menu definition. Double-click CCRS to open the definition. Click the next available Option field and type CCRS_012. Click the Type dropdown list and select Menu. Type Cable Authorization in the Description field. Type CABLE_AUTHORIZATION in the Parameter 1 field. Click the Save button () to add the menu option. Click the Close button () to close the Menu Definition window.
Create the CCRS.AUTH user role. Double-click General administration > Menus and Roles > Role Definitions. The Role Definition window is displayed. Click the Create new record button (). Type CCRS.AUTH in the Role ID field. Type Cable Authorization in the Description field. Click the Access dropdown list and choose Full or Read to specify the access level for the project. Click the Save button () to save the user role in the system. Enter CCRS_012 in the Menu Option/Action field. Alternatively, double-click the field, select the menu option from the Menu codes dialog box, and then click OK. Click the Save button (). Click the Close button () to close the Role Definition window.
Associate the CCRS.AUTH user role with a project and user account. Double-click General administration > Menus and Roles > Role Definitions. The Role Definition window is displayed. Click the Enter query conditions button (). Type CCRS in the Role ID field, and then click the Execute query button () to open the CCRS user role. Click the Projects/Users tab. Click the Create new record button (). Type the project code in the Project field or double-click the field and select the project to associate with the CCRS user role from the Project codes dialog box. Type the user ID in the User field or double-click the field and select the user ID to assign from the ICE User IDs dialog box. Click the Status dropdown list and select Enabled or Disabled to specify the active status of the configuration. (Optional) Continue to add entries for all the required project and user ID combinations. Click the Save button () to save the CCRS user role. Click the Close button () to close the Role Definition window.
