Configuring Net and Pin Properties for ICDs
Additional properties can be configured for ICD nets and pins. These properties are propagated to the ICD when it is used in Capital Logic.
Properties are derived from a number of different sources:
- Attributes and properties derived from the Library Configuration — this allows Component Engineers to assign pin input/outputs and map nets to cavities using the interactive pin map displayed in the dialog.
- Pin properties defined against the type code assigned in the Library — these are pulled in and displayed in the relevant Pins or Nets accordion when the type code is assigned to a device.
- Properties derived from either the
icdpinproperties.jsonfile, defined against a type code, or theicdnetproperties.jsonfile.
Note: This is only available for ICDs without part numbers. Once a part number is assigned to an ICD then Library becomes the master and all properties and attributes are obtained from the information specified in Library.
Library and ICD defined properties are differentiated by color coding in the accordion columns, as shown in Figure 1. Blue shaded columns are ascribed to device properties and attributes derived from Capital Library. Light blue properties are type code driven properties, from Capital Library. Properties specified by the icdpinproperties.json based configuration files are shown in amber shaded columns.

Controlling Column Visibility
When working in the Properties accordion, the visibility of different pin attributes is controlled by settings in the Capital_install/webclient/configuration/library/devicepinattributes.json file, using the "visibleColumns" setting. As columns are modified here, their visibility is altered accordingly within Capital Devices.
A secondary method for controlling column visibility is also available using the icdpinproperties.json file. Here you can configure the pin properties for the ICDs based on their type code. Additionally, in this file, the "columnsToHide" section allows you to show or hide any columns that are visible in the pin properties. This includes columns that come from Library, the properties of that library part based on its type code, and also default properties, such as option expressions, user defined properties and nets. Note: if you hide the "nets" column using the columnsToHide setting, then this also removes the Nets Filter section from the accordion. An example file is shown in Figure 2.
Note: Using the columnsToHide settings will override derived settings from
devicepinattributes.json.
