Signal/Multicore (Wiring View) Tab (Output Window)
To access: Displays when you select signals in the Design Browser (Design tab) and click the Visualize the selected signals button to display a wiring view of the selected signals. If a signal is a member of a multicore, it displays a wiring view of the entire multicore.
The wiring view shows individual devices, connectors, and wires that implement the signals. You can perform various actions on the view.
Objects
| Field | Description |

| Style | This read-only view can use any style set defined for Capital Logic Designer (because it is a wiring view). You select the style set from this drop-down list. The ability to have multiple style sets is controlled by licensing. If you do not have the necessary license, only the default style set for Capital Logic Designer is available. |
| Signal/Multicore | The Signal/Multicore drop-down lists all signals that have been visualized. Select a signal from the drop-down list to dim wiring belonging to all other signals. If you select to visualize a signal in a multicore, the system visualizes the entire multicore. The Signal/Multicore drop-down will list the multicore, not the individual signals in the multicore. If you have visualized just one combined signal, its name is not listed in the drop-down, because the default blank entry at the top of the list visualizes the entire wiring for the combined signal. In this example, just one combined signal was visualized. It has child signals COND7 and COND8. If you have visualized a combined signal and another signal, the default blank entry at the top of the list will visualize the entire wiring for the combined signal and the other signal. Therefore, the combined signal and its child signals are listed in the dropdown so that you can select just the combined signal if required. In this example, a signal COND1 and combined signal SIG301 were selected. The combined signal has child signals COND7 and COND8. |
| Spacing | Allows you to control the amount of whitespace between objects in the wiring view. Increase the number to move objects further apart. Decrease the number to move objects closer together. |
| Advanced Spacing Controls | In Layout View, you can edit advanced spacing controls to improve the readability of the wiring view (unavailable in Compact View): Horizontal Spacing Increment Increases the grid point spacing between components in the horizontal direction, on top of the value computed from the Spacing value. Pin Spacing Increment Increases the grid point spacing between pins, on top of the default value computed for the layout. Recommended if there are multi-term signals in the wiring view. Route multicore inner cores together Select to prioritize routing by multicore to display fewer crossovers of nested multicores and improve the positioning of multicore symbols: First lays out all multicore-related conductors, including shield terminations and conductors that terminate on multicore splices. Lays out non-multicore conductors. Allow pins to change sides Select to switch sides of the pin lists on pin list objects to create a cleaner wiring view with fewer crossovers and shorter routing paths. Clear to display the wiring view based on the wiring data in the Platform design. See also Optimized Pin and Multicore Indicator Positioning. |
| Switch to Compact View Switch to Layout View | Decide which sort of view you want to use. You can click the button to toggle between a compact view (where device and inline positions are kept as close as possible) or a layout-based view (where device and inline positions follow their relative positions in the Capital Systems Integrator diagram). For an example of each sort of view, see the Examples section at the bottom of the topic Generating a Wiring View of a Synthesized Signal or Multicore. |
| Refresh | Updates the wiring view based on any changes to the data. The view does not update automatically when changes are made. |
| Save visualized wiring | Saves the wiring view as a Capital Logic Designer design and adds it to the Project Browser Window. |
| No Filtering / Vehicle Models / Configurations / Select Options | By default the wiring for all configurations is displayed in the visualized wiring view (No Filtering). You can filter the view to show the wiring for selected vehicle models, configurations, or options by clicking the following menu options and making selections as required: Vehicle Models Displays an Applicable vehicle models dialog box where you can select the vehicle models. Configurations Displays an Applicable configurations dialog box where you can select the configurations. Select Options Displays an Applicable options dialog box where you can select the options. In the dialog boxes, you can use a filter string to filter the listed vehicle models, configurations, and options. See Browser Tab and Dialog Box Filters in the Capital Design Tools - Common Functions User Guide for further information. In the Applicable vehicle models and Applicable configurations dialog boxes, you can filter the listed items to those applicable only to certain options. To do this, select Filter by options on the bottom right of the dialog box to display the Applicable options dialog box where you select the options. To undo that filtering, select Show all configurations or Show all vehicle models. |
| Build / Remove Content / Store View / Restore View | After you have generated a visualized wiring view of signals or multicores, you can build on that wiring view by selecting connections to device pins that you want to add. This adds only the wiring connecting to the selected pin, automatically tracing through splices, inline connectors, and slot splices. | Display all text Display names only Hide all text | Toggles the display of text on the wiring view. |
| Zoom All | You can pan around the view and zoom in/out. If you have zoomed in to a specific area of the wiring view, you can zoom back out again by clicking this. |
| Wiring view | If you select an object in the wiring view, it highlights in the Capital Systems Integrator diagram. Within the wiring view, you can right-click on an object to display the standard menu available for that object within Capital Systems Integrator. For example, you can choose Properties and edit the attributes/properties for that object. Note You can select multiple objects in the wiring view. If you want to select only wires, hold Ctrl and the left mouse button, and drag to draw a bounding box around the wires you want to select. Selected wires highlight in red. You can then perform actions on the selected wires, without the action being applied to other objects (such as splices, shields, and multicore indicators). If you hold the mouse cursor over a device, the effective option expression for that device displays. An effective option expression is calculated based on all of the related objects at that location (such as, the device itself, the connecting net, and any option expression assigned to the placement of the device). The option expression for each of the related objects is displayed below the effective one. |
