Usage Example of Storing

a Wiring View

The following is an example of storing a wiring view.

You have the following Capital Systems Integrator design:

You generate a visualized wiring view for signal COND100.

You want to remove device DEV201 from it.

The wiring view is regenerated with DEV201 removed.

You store this view.

In the design process, you make changes to the wiring. For example, splicing is disallowed by the use of rules and constraints.

You resynthesize the wiring (selecting the Delete All Wiring option when doing so).

You generate the visualized wiring view for COND100 again, and the wiring has changed accordingly. It has changed from a splice to a multi-term on DEV201.

You restore the view that you stored before.

The following message is displayed.

The problem is that you removed DEV201 from that stored view and that is where the multi-term now exists.

You need to regenerate the view.

It regenerates and includes all the devices connected to the signals that you had selected initially.

From this point, you can use the Build Diagram and Remove Content actions to build a wiring view that includes only connectivity that interests you. You could then store that view.

Note

The stored view continues to exist in the design. If ever you restore it, it uses the latest data to generate a fresh visualization of signal connectivity to those devices that interested you when you stored it. It is not a static image.
