Harness Synchronization Filters
When synchronizing content from the source design, you can filter objects to add specific variants and avoid including all wires, and their related components, into the target design.
You can filter objects based on the following codes:
Capital Harness Designer — Option codes
Capital Harness Designer Modular — Option or module codes
Filters are only applied to objects that are available for synchronization, as defined by the Change Policies. Filters do not override any Change Policies applied to the synchronization.
The set of option codes that are used as a filter, are stored in different ways:
Applicable Options filters are saved in the target design.
Configuration filters are saved in the project.
Required Components
Required Components are design content that you require in the target design after synchronization. To enable the filters to populate wires, and their related components during synchronization, the following settings must be specified:
Required wires, and their related components, are tagged with option or module codes in the source design.
Codes are specified in the Applicable Options or Applicable FM Codes (Capital Harness Designer Modular) in the target design.
A Configuration is stored in the project (Configuration filters only).
Tip
Applying filters includes only the required wires and their related components, and avoids manually de-populating objects in the design following synchronization. See “Depopulating Redundant Objects”.
Harness synchronization filter process:
| a | All content to be synchronized into the new design is assigned to option or module codes in either Capital Logic Designer, Capital Systems Integrator, or Capital Wiring Integrator. |

Capital
Logic Designer Designs
Designs created in Capital Logic Designer can be filtered to populate the target design with all wires, and their related components, or specific variants from the source design.
None — No filter is applied. The whole content of the source design, assigned to the selected harness, is populated into the target design.
Applicable Options — Uses the Applicable Options settings, specified in the target design, to populate content tagged with matching option expressions assigned in the source design. Untagged wires (with no option expressions) also populate the target design.
Applicable Functional Module Codes — Uses the Applicable FM Codes settings, specified in the target design, to populate content tagged with matching module codes assigned in the source design (Capital Harness Designer Modular only).
Configuration — Opens the Synchronize Filter
Configurations Dialog Box to manually select predefined configurations from Capital Project Manager. Untagged wires (with no option code) also populate the target design.

Capital
Systems Integrator and Topology
Designs created in Capital Systems Integrator and Topology can be filtered to populate the target design with all wires, and their related components, or specific variants from the source design.
None — No filter is applied. The whole content of the source design, assigned to the selected harness, is populated into the target design.
Applicable Options — Uses the Applicable Options settings, specified in the target design, to populate content tagged with matching option expressions assigned in the source design. Untagged wires (with no option expressions) also populate the target design.
Applicable Functional Module Codes — Uses the Applicable FM Codes settings, specified in the target design, to populate content tagged with matching module codes assigned in the source design (Capital Harness Designer Modular only).
Configuration — Opens the Synchronize Filter
Configurations Dialog Box to manually select predefined configurations from Capital Project Manager. Untagged wires (with no option code) also populate the target design.
Applicable Option codes assigned to the target design and used as a filter, can be overwritten during synchronization with Capital Systems Integrator. This is controlled by the Mastered Options setting. See Considerations for Synchronizing Capital Systems Integrator or Topology Designs for using Mastered Options controls.
If the Mastered Options setting is selected, option codes from the Capital Systems Integrator harness replace all existing Applicable Options on the target harness design, and the Applicable Options filter is unavailable in the Filter dropdown list.
