Using Quick Tube via Bundle

You can use the quick tube process to create tube insulations on a selected bundle and set the length that will override any system calculated value.

Restrictions and Limitations

  • You can only use these steps as a quick method for adding tube insulation: See the topics in the Insulations chapter for details on the standard methods for adding and editing all types of insulation.

Procedure

  1. Select the ribbon action. Alternatively press Space Bar and enter “Quick Tube via Bundle”. The cursor changes to .

  2. Double-click the required bundle where you want to place the tube. The Quick Tube Creator Dialog Box displays.

  3. Specify a Name for the tube insulation run.

  4. Specify the Insulation Type and Layer.Note The Insulation Type dropdown list only contains Tube insulation choices. You cannot add any other type of insulation using this process.

  5. Select a Library Part number for the tube.Note The Library Part panel is unavailable if you have specified one of the “Selected” tube options in the Insulation Type dropdown list. The fact that this insulation is Selected means that a part will be chosen from the library during Harness Engineering.

  6. If you have specified one of the “Selected” tube options in the Insulation Type dropdown list, you can configure the attributes for the required tube in the Attributes panel. When the harness engineering process runs, it considers these attributes and chooses a suitable matching tube. Otherwise this panel is unavailable.

  7. If you want to override the tube length that will be created by harness processing, select the Override Length check box and enter the required value in the Length field.

  8. Click OK.

Results

  • The insulation displays between the selected points on the bundle.

  • The settings you configured on the Quick Tube Creator dialog box are saved and redisplayed when you re-open the dialog box.
