Converting a Butt Splice to a Center Strip Splice

If a butt splice does not use a symbol, you can convert it to a center strip splice. When splices are created manually or automatically during wiring synthesis, they are butt splices by default.

Butt splices are indicated by the butt splice icon in the design browser (Design tab).

Procedure

In the Design Browser Window, select the two wires that you want to make the center strip in the splice, press Space Bar and enter Convert to Center Stripped.

Results

  • The wires become one wire that has the name of the first wire that you selected and has the center strip wire icon next to it.

  • The splice is now center-stripped and has the center strip splice icon in the Design Browser (Design tab).
