Associating Library Cavities with Ports
When you assign a library part description to a device, a connector or a backshell (shared or unshared) in Capital Systems Modeler, you must associate the cavities from the library part with the ports on the object. The Associate Ports with Cavities dialog is displayed to enable you to do this.
When you associate the cavities with ports, the ports are renamed to the names of the cavities. All ports must be associated with a cavity. If there are more cavities than ports, not all cavities have to be associated with ports.
For shared objects, if there are more cavities than shared ports, additional ports will be generated and named according to the remaining unassociated cavities.
Procedure
In the Associate Ports with Cavities dialog, click on the cavity in the Cavities window and click on the port in the Ports window. Any ports that are not yet associated are displayed in bold in the Ports window.Note You can associate all of the cavities automatically at once by clicking the Associate All button. You can also disassociate a port from a cavity by clicking on the port in the Ports window and clicking the Disassociate button. You can disassociate all ports by clicking the Disassociate All button.
The associated port is no longer displayed in bold. Click the OK button to exit the dialog.
