Specifying

the Physical Length of a Bundle

You can specify (edit or override) the physical length of a bundle. The physical length is initially determined by the length of the bundle in the diagram. The bundle length is used when calculating the cost of any synthesized wiring. Overriding the length can therefore change the result of routing logical signals because the system selects the cheapest route.

Procedure

  1. Right-click the bundle in the Logical Designs Browser (Function tab), Design Browser (Design tab) or Diagram Window and choose Properties; the Edit Properties Dialog Box displays.

  2. On the General tab, select Override next to the Length field and change the value in the field.

  3. Click OK to exit the Edit Properties dialog box and to commit your changes.
