Creating a Terminal Plan
You can create a terminal plan using a plug-in table. The required plug‑in is provided with Capital by default.
Prerequisites
The terminal strip to create a terminal plan for has already been created. See Creating a Terminal Strip.
The jumper device pins used for jumper connections to display in the terminal plan have their Pin Type attribute set to JMPR. (Connections between jumper device pins that have Pin Type set to values other than JMPR are not shown in terminal plans.) You can edit a pin’s Pin Type attribute in its Properties Dialog Box in Capital Logic Designer. You can also set the Pin Type attribute value when creating or editing a symbol in Capital Symbol Designer. See “Adding a Pin to a Symbol” in the Capital Symbol Designer User Guide to add a pin to a symbol.
Procedure
Press the space bar and enter Styles, and then select Home > Styles from the Search Ribbon dropdown list.The Style Sets Dialog Box is displayed.
In the style sets tree, select the Design > Decorations > Tables node for the style set you are using.
Click the Add button ().
The New Table Decoration Dialog Box is displayed.Click the Table Type dropdown list and select Plug-in Table, and then click OK.
To open the New Table Style Dialog Box:If no table style exists for this type of table decoration, the Question message box is displayed. Click Yes.
If a table style already exists for this type of table decoration, click New in the Table Style section on the Basic tab.
Specify a name for the new table style.
Click the Plug-in Table ellipsis button (...), select TerminalPlan in the Plugins dialog box, and then click OK.
Specify the following:On the Cell tab in the Text Details section, specify the required font style.
In the Gridline Color field, select the color of the table border.
The number of blocks into which a terminal plan is split in designs that contain more than one terminal strip: To display the terminal plan in one block, select the Single Instance check box.
To split the terminal plan into multiple blocks, clear the Single Instance check box and specify the following: In the Split After section, select Columns, and in the Count field specify the maximum number of terminal strips per block. For example, if a design has four terminal strips and you enter 3 in the Count field, the terminal plan will be split into two blocks, with three terminal strips in the first block and one in the second block.
In the Layout section, select Horizontal or Vertical to specify whether the blocks should initially be displayed side-by-side or stacked one on top of the next. (Once the terminal plan has been created, you can drag blocks to new locations if required.)
Click OK in the New Table Style dialog box.
In the tree, select the plug-in table node (which has been added as child node of the Tables node).
On the Basic tab, specify the justification, nominal origin, and horizontal and vertical offsets for the table.
If you do not want the terminal plan displayed on every diagram in the design, in the Visibility section of the Basic tab, click Plugin and select IsTerminalPlanDiagram in the Plugins dialog box, and then click OK.The IsTerminalPlanDiagram plugin is selected in the Query field. Click OK.
If you specified the IsTerminalPlanDiagram plugin in the Query field in the Style Sets dialog box, add the TerminalPlanDiagram property to the diagrams that you want the terminal plan to display on. See Using Diagrams.Note You do not need to specify a value for the TerminalPlanDiagram property: the presence / absence of the property determines whether or not the terminal plan is displayed on each diagram.
On diagrams where you want the terminal plan to display, press the space bar and enter Update Border.
Results
- The terminal plan is displayed on diagrams that have had their borders updated (provided that, if the IsTerminalPlanDiagram query was specified, the TerminalPlanDiagram property has been added to the diagrams).
