Setting Up Capital to Import Data from Teamcenter Product Configurator

Before you can import option and pro product plan data from Teamcenter Product Configurator, there are various configuration steps you must perform for your Capital installation.

Prerequisites

  • You must have the appropriate license for Teamcenter connect. Contact Siemens customer support if you do not.

  • If you want to import pro product plan data you must have the appropriate license for Capital Configuration Optimizer.

  • Your Teamcenter installation must include File Management System (FMS) – File Server Cache (FSC). Refer to your Teamcenter documentation for instructions on installing this.

  • You must install a Teamcenter FCC client on your Capital computer. Refer to Teamcenter documentation for instructions on installing this.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the adaptors/adaptors.xml file in your Capital installation, and open it in an editor.Find the following section and uncomment it by removing from the end.

Replace localhost with the name or IP address of the machine hosting Teamcenter. Find the following section and uncomment it by moving outside of any

markers:

Save and close the file.

  1. In the Teamcenter FCC client installation on your Capital machine, navigate to the tccs/fcc.xml file and open it in an editor.Find the line <parentfsc address=" priority="0"/> and edit the path to reference the name or IP address of the machine hosting Teamcenter. For example, if the IP address is 12.123.12.123, the line would say <parentfsc address=" priority="0"/>.

Save and close the file.

  1. From the same tccs folder, open the tcserver.xml file in an editor.Find the parameter endpoint=" and edit the path to reference the name or IP address of the machine hosting Teamcenter. For example: endpoint="

Save and close the file.

  1. Add and update system variables on the machine hosting your Capital installation:Add a variable FMS_HOME that points to the tccs folder of your Teamcenter FCC client installation. For example:

Update your path variable with the following paths:

Add a JAVA_HOME variable that points to the jre folder in your Capital installation. For example:
