Generating Documentation in Capital E/E Publisher

Using Capital E/E Publisher in Capital X

Capital E/E Publisher is supported in Capital X. You can choose to generate packages either using the Capital E/E Publisher dialog or by submitting package generation as a background task. For the best experience, the following points should be considered on how data is managed. For example, generated content will not be written to, and resources will not be accessed from the Capital X cloud database. Instead, they will be written to and read from the file system.

When using Capital E/E Publisher in Capital X the following assumptions and known limitations must be considered:

  • You must define a location such as an S3 bucket to store input and output files so they can read from and written to. Contact Siemens Customer Support if you require help with this task. Note An S3 bucket is a fundamental storage container in Amazon Web Services (AWS™) Simple Storage Service (S3). It provides a secure and scalable repository for storing objects such as text data, images, audio, and video files.

  • You have the necessary permissions and access to initiate a background task.

Restriction

For Capital X deployments, Capital Design Explorer package generation is supported; however, running it in the environment is not. To run Capital Design Explorer, you must export the package to a system where the license is hosted on Capital License Server.
