Layout > Component Graphic and Layer Order Matching
Running the DRC
To run the “Validate node component graphics layering” Design Rule Check (DRC) or open the Set Layer Order dialog box, the following conditions must be met on the diagram:
A stack exists at a component node.
The components and secondary components have a Layer attribute / property value higher than “0”. Note The Layer attribute has a default value = “0” when you create a component in a design. The “Validate node component graphics layering” Design Rule Check (DRC) considers a “0” value as undefined”, so you must change the default Layer value to identify the component during the DRC. If the Layer attribute is undefined, the DRC will use any specified Layer property. Undefined Layer attributes / properties are displayed in the Set Layer Order Dialog Box as “‑1”.
Symbol graphics include at least one polygon that intersects with the y axis at the component node. See also DRC Symbol Graphics Selection.
If a multi-location component (MLC) node is selected, the DRC and the Set Layer Order action also considers the layer orders of the following components where they exist at nodes inside the multi-location graphic:
Insulation with both end nodes inside the graphic.
Devices.
Other components.
Spot tape.
The bundle insulation is reported multiple times for each internal node in its path.
