Cavity Component Management
Required Terminal
and Seal Attributes
In source designs created using Capital Logic Designer and Capital Wiring Integrator, you can specify attributes on a wire to determine the terminal part number, and seal part number requirements at each wire end.

In target harness designs created using Capital Harness Designer / Capital Harness Designer Modular, the Required Terminal and Required Seal attributes are carried over during synchronization to utilize the part numbers specified in the source design as part of the Capital flow. See also the Edit Wires Dialog Box.

Styling
The following decorations are available in the Cavity Chart to style the terminal / seal part numbers on the diagram.

Change Policy
You can edit the wire Change Policy to control the setting of the terminal material requirements on each wire end.
If you change the Material value on the wire end in the target harness design, there might be a conflict with the terminal / seal parts specified in the source design. You can configure the following policies in the Change Policy Dialog Box, to override the wire end terminal values set in the source design and preserve the changes in the target harness design when you run the cavity component selection routine.

Harness Synchronization
Synchronization into Capital Harness Designer / Capital Harness Designer Modular designs ensures that if the wire ends in the target harness design have swapped position, the correct values are set for the relevant attributes.
For example, in the target harness design, a wire may terminate between P2 and P1 and the corresponding wire ends will reflect this.
In the source design, the wire may terminate between P1 and P2, so the attributes for End 1 and End 2 will be swapped in the target harness design during synchronization to ensure that each wire end object reflects the correct data.
Cavity Component Management
You can use Cavity Component Management (CCM) to validate the required terminal / seal parts.
Note
You can edit the component details of device and connector library parts to specify if terminal or seal parts are available for selection on pins and cavities during CCM. See “Pin Names Tab” or “Cavity Names Tab” in the Capital Component Manager User Guide.
The CCM warnings will display if the following updates or inconsistencies are identified:
A required terminal / seal part is specified on the wire end, and it exists in the housing definition of the connector, backshell, or device, the part will be selected in preference to any other terminal / seal regardless of its Factor value.
A required terminal / seal part is inconsistent with other parts in the design because of different wire end combination options or changes to the wire end material in the target harness design.
DRCs
You can use the following Design Rule Checks to ensure that there are no discrepancies with the required terminal / seal part displayed in the Edit Wires dialog box.
