Placement Option
Expression in Wiring Views
When you generate a wiring view of a synthesized signal or multicore, devices in the wiring view are given an option expression based on device and placement expressions. You can view this option expression in a tooltip by holding your mouse over a device in the wiring view. However, you may want to display them permanently.
The system therefore adds a particular property to each device in a visualized device. You can style the display of this property in the wiring view to make the placement option expressions visible. The property is:
- VizPlacementOptionExpression This has a value that is the variant placement expression (if any) of the represented device. The normal OptionExpression attribute is a combination of the logical option expressions (device, pin, net) plus the variant placement option expression. However, this can be quite long and it is often useful to display only the variant placement option expression. The variant placement expression can, for example, distinguish between two devices with the same name in the visualized diagram. This is the value provided by the vizVariantPlacement property
