Adding an Arc to a Bundle

You can add and configure an arc on a bundle.

Tip

See Bundle Manipulation Overview to use the Manipulation Handles to edit bundle positions and shapes.

Procedure

  1. Right-click a bundle, either:On the diagram or in the Harness Design Browser, and select Arc > Add Arc.

Press Space Bar and enter Add Arc; the Bundle Palette Dialog Box is displayed. Click Add Arc Segment ().

The cursor changes to .

  1. Position the cursor over a bundle at the point at which you want the arc to begin. If the position is valid, the cursor changes to .

  2. Click to place the entry point of the curve (a red circle indicates the selected position). Again, the cursor changes to .

  3. Click the bundle to specify the direction of the arc away from the entry point. The Add Arc Dialog Box is displayed.

  4. Specify a Radius and Travel Angle. The arc is redrawn based in the new values. Note You can add a number of contiguous arcs in a sequence by pressing Shift+Add Arc. Use Shift+Add Arc to continue adding arcs either on the same bundle, or alternative bundles. This is enabled for any bundle on the diagram, not just the one the Add Arc action was invoked from.

  5. Determine how the exit section and subsequent bundles should be oriented following the addition of the curve, and set the Rotate Attached Bundles option accordingly.

  6. Click OK. The selected bundle is broken into three segments—the entry segment, the curve segment and the exit segment—and the curve segment is redrawn according to the values you specified.Note In Full Scale Diagrams, the total length of the bundle following the insertion of the curve is unchanged.
