Edit Overbraid Dialog Box

To access: Click the Edit button with an overbraid selected in the Edit Overbraids Dialog Box.

Used to configure overbraids.

Objects

Field	Description
Name	A unique label for the overbraid (within this design). Type a name, or click the ellipsis (...) button to the right of the field to select from a list of pre-specified overbraid names maintained in the project’s Object Type Information in Capital Project Manager. If this field is left blank, the overbraid is named according to any default names configured for the project in Capital Project Manager. Optional.
Short Description	Automatically displays the Short Description field of the overbraid if it is already defined in Capital Project Manager. If no predefined information exists, you can enter and edit the Short Description. This attribute is then made available for use in styling and for search queries. Optional.
Unique End Count	This field displays the number of ends the overbraid has, calculated from the wires contained with it as defined in the Edit Overbraids Dialog Box. This value is for information only and can be exceeded. Read-only.
Terminations	This grid is used to specify all of the points at which the overbraid is terminated, whether at a connector or splice cavity, or at a backshell termination. To add a termination point: Click the New button; the Select Termination Locations Dialog Box is displayed. Select one or more termination points, press Ctrl to select the second or subsequent termination points. Click OK. The dialog box closes and the terminations are added to the grid. To delete, select a termination in the grid, and click Delete. An overbraid must be terminated at least one point to be valid. Any unterminated overbraids will be removed when the Edit Overbraids Dialog Box is closed.
New	Click to open the Select Termination Locations Dialog Box, and specify the points at which the overbraid is terminated.
Delete	Removes a selected termination point from the Terminations grid.
Library Part	Specifies an association with an overbraid in the library. Select the required library part number type (Internal, Customer, or Supplier) and click the ellipsis (...) button. The Part Selection Dialog Box is displayed to search for and insert an overbraid from the library. You can view details for the associated part by clicking the button. The associated part can be removed by clicking the button. Optional. If a library part is selected, all attributes for which values can be specified against the library part are completed and set to read-only.
Customer Name	Can be used to specify the customer name for the overbraid. This can then be displayed in the overbraids table, or it can be displayed using styling. Optional.
Harness	Used for mapping Capital Logic Designer objects to Capital Harness Designer harnesses during synchronization. See Specifying the Harness Attribute for an Object in the Capital Logic Designer User Guide. Default is the current harness design name. Enter a new name, or click the ellipsis (...) button to select from a list of pre-specified harness names maintained in the project’s Object Type Information in Capital Project Manager. Optional.
BOM ID	Specifies a unique identifier to be displayed against the component in the Bill of Materials table, the Composite BOM table and in Bill of Material reports generated from Capital E/E Reporter. This attribute is only available when a library part is assigned. Optional. BOM IDs can be automatically prefixed in tables and reports based on project preferences you have configured.
Included On BOM	Specifies whether the overbraid should be ignored when generating a bill of materials during engineering calculations (cleared) or whether it should be included (selected). Also applies to any components associated with this one, see Included On BOM Setting. Optional.
Included On Cut Chart	Specifies whether the overbraid should be ignored when generating a Wire Cutting Chart (cleared) or whether it should be included (selected). Optional.
Note	This is a free-text field that can be used to record any additional information / instructions required. Optional.
Parent	Only applicable when editing an existing overbraid (and if this overbraid is part of a nested overbraid) this field displays the name of the overbraid within which this overbraid is nested. Read-only.
Module	Specifies the modules to which this overbraid is assigned. If an overbraid is created by the synchronization of data from Capital Logic Designer or Capital Systems Integrator, this field displays the assigned module code, but this can be overwritten. Multiple module codes can be specified by separating them with a forward slash (/). Codes cannot begin or end with a forward slash or a space. Optional.
Level	If the current harness design has been synchronized with a Capital Systems Integrator design, this field displays the harness levels in which the overbraid exists. See also Synchronizing from a Capital Systems Integrator Design. Read-only.
Option	Specifies the derivatives in which the overbraid exists. To create or edit an option expression, click the ellipsis (...) button to the right of the field and use the Edit Option Expression Dialog Box. Alternatively, you can enter or modify an option expression directly within the field. Optional.
