Application Interface

The Capital Cable Router interface is divided into different elements.

Project Dropdown List

The Project dropdown list displays all the projects that have been created and assigned to your user role in Capital Cable Router Admin. You can choose a project to utilize at any point during the workflow. The last project you worked on is selected automatically when you open a new session.

Navigation Pane

The Navigation pane lists the following workflows and options:

• Cables and Devices — Used to access detailed design information of the cables and devices in the project.

• Networks — Used to access detailed design information of segments and nodes in the nodal network.

• Data Management — Used to manage the synchronization of design data with Teamcenter.

• License Information — Opens the product license conditions and copyright notices.

• Language — Used to choose which language to display in Capital Cable Router.

• Help — Opens the Capital Cable Router User Guide.

The helpLink parameter in the Capital_Installation\config\cablerouter\generalpreferences.json file opens the Capital Cable Router User Guide on the Siemens Support Center by default, or you can configure the parameter to open a version hosted in the internal support documentation for your organization: Siemens Support Center Copy"//docs.sw.siemens.com/<locale>/doc/861057055/<injectable version>.capital_cr_user/manualtitle" Internal support documentation Copy"URL to the HTML or PDF hosted on your web server"

• User Profile — Displays the username logged into the Capital Cable Router session.

• Logout — Logs you out of the current session and closes the application.

Search Pane

The Search pane is available on the Cables and Devices and the Networks workflows and includes data type tabs that contain search criteria fields used to search for specific components. See Searching Components and Objects in the Project to sort and filter the search results.

Details Pane

See “Details Pane” for an overview of the tables and sections in the Details pane.

Actions Pane

The Actions pane is available on the Cables and Devices workflow and lists the following actions to manage routing requests from Teamcenter and perform cable routing through available segments in NX:

• Add to Auto-Route — Adds selected cables to the Auto-Router queue.

• Submit to Auto-Route — Sends the cables in the Auto-Router queue to the Auto-Router and opens the Submit Cables for Auto Routing dialog box.

• Manage Routing Requests — Used to view submitted cables and accept, reject, or re-submit the requests.

• Start Route — Starts Interactive Cable Routing and identifies the available segments leading from the Start or End node.

• Continue Route — Used to continue routing partially routed cables.

• Rules and Preferences — Opens the “Define Rules and Preferences

Dialog Box”.

• Authorize Cable Route (requires user role access) — Opens the Authorize Cable Routes dialog box, see Cable Route Approval”.

• Maximize — Maximizes the Details pane to the extents of your web browser.

• Minimize — Minimizes the Details pane and restores the Search and Navigation panes.
