Splice Repositioning Constraints for Optimization
The following default constraints can be accessed from the Capital Harness > Splice Repositioning folder.
See Rules and Constraints to create constraints.
Bundle
Exclusion
You can use this constraint to prevent splices being placed on bundles that match a query. Use this constraint when either optimizing or repositioning splices.
Constraint construction:
Copy
Don't place splice on bundle matching <any> when either optimizing or moving Splices
Distance
from Object
Use this constraint to specify a minimum distance that a splice can be placed from a choice of the following objects:
Connector
Splice
Junction
Clip
Grommet
Other Component (relates to any objects placed by using the “Add Other Component” function, it does not relate to components defined in Capital Component Manager of group “Other”)
Use this constraint when either optimizing or repositioning splices.
Constraint construction:
Copy
Maintain minimum distance of num from object matching <any> when either optimizing or moving splices
Include Wire CSA in Splice Optimization
This constraint is used when you need the conductor weight of the wires in the splice to be taken into consideration when finding the optimal position. Only use this constraint when optimizing splice positions.
Constraint construction:
Copy
Do Include Wire CSA in Splice Optimization
Optimize the position of splices
Use this constraint to change the position of splices that match the expression, such that the position minimizes the use of material and conforms to any splice optimization constraints that have been set.
Only use this constraint when optimizing splice positions.
Constraint construction:
Copy
Optimize the position of splices matching <any>
