Generating a Capital E/E Publisher Package as a Background Task (Capital

	X)

If you wish to submit a background task to generate a Capital E/E Publisher package follow these instructions:

Prerequisites

• You must copy any input data to your S3 bucket or input folder that is required for your selected task, as shown below:

Procedure

1. Navigate to your S3 bucket path and ensure the required input data resources have been uploaded to the \input folder.
   Note The input folder and its contents can be accessed by all users.

2. Login to Capital X.

3. Open Capital E/E Publisher.

4. Open a Project, then select Home > Publish.

5. Select your required Packager and enter a Package Name.

6. Check the Background Run box.

7. The following information can be used to define the Export To location, and where to retrieve the Package Thumbnail and Resources.
   
   Define the Export to path as the output designated folder in your S3 bucket (For example output\Publisher).
   
   Define the Package Thumbnail path as the \input<Resources-folder-name> in your S3 bucket (For example input\thumbnails\key.png).
   
   Define the Resources path as the Resources designated folder in your S3 bucket (For example input\auto_resources).

8. Select a Wiring or Harness Styleset (if applicable).

9. Select your desired Scope and artifacts for inclusion in the package.

10. Click Create Package.

Results

Once the task has completed successfully, the generated package will be stored at your defined output relative path in the S3 bucket. To access your generated files, see Accessing Generated Files from Background Tasks with Capital X.

Note

Your defined output path is created under a user specific folder (). This output path is restricted and allows access only to the user who initiated the task to generate the output.
