Configuring Crossover Point Styles
Using the Style Sets dialog box, system administrators can customize how conductors and fluid lines display at crossover points on diagrams to improve visual clarity and align with your industry standards.
Note
When you change the crossover point styles, the system updates all the unconnected intersections in your design.
Prerequisites
- (Optional) See “Exporting Style Sets” in the Capital Project Manager User Guide to create a backup of your current style settings.
Procedure
Press the space bar and enter Styles, and then double-click Home > Styles from the Search Ribbon dropdown list.
The Style Sets Dialog Box is displayed.Expand the Design node and select General Settings.
(Optional) To control the crossover styling using a plugin, click the Conductor Crossover Control dropdown list and select the plugin.
You can create plugins to customize which line segment displays the crossover styling, for example by comparing the attribute or property values of the lines. For more information about developing and using extensibility plugins, see the PluginDevelopment.pdf file located in the doc\plugin folder of your Capital software installation.To configure the shape and size of the crossover:
Expand the Object node for the design object type you want to modify and select Crossover Shape. Expand the Params Center node and select the crossoverMarker parameter. Click the Name dropdown list in the Glyph section and choose which shape to display: blank-space (Default) semi-circle Select the crossoverSize parameter. Click the Name dropdown list in the Parameter section and choose the size of the shape relative to the grid size on the diagram. 0.0 (Default) Lines will cross without displaying the crossover shape. 0.5 0.75 1.0Click Apply to save the style configuration, and then click OK.
Press space bar and enter Apply to All to update all conductors and fluid line crossovers in your design with the new style settings.
(Optional) You can configure the following parameters in the install_directory\config\defaultStyle.xml file to modify the shape and size of the crossover further.
Crossover Box Size
Define additional size values which will display in the crossoverSize dropdown list.
crossoverMarker glyph
Modify to customize the geometry of the semi‑circle.
Results
The crossover styles are now configured according to your specifications and will be applied automatically as you modify the design.
What to Do Next
To verify your intersection style configuration:
Create a test conductor or fluid line crossover point.
Verify that the crossover displays your configured style.
Modify the outside diameter of a line segment to confirm the crossover updates correctly.
