General Tab

To access: From the Project Defaults window, click the General tab.

Used by System Administrators to configure the general project preferences.

Objects

Field	Description
Signatories required for Change Control	Specify the number of reviewers required for acceptance of a Change Request. Read‑only while Change Requests are under review. Default is 2.
Change Request Authorisation Level 1	Specify a description of the person / group responsible to review, accept, or reject Change Requests. Default is Design.
Level 2	Specify a description of the second person / group responsible to review Change Requests. Unavailable if only one signatory is required. Default is Installation.
2D Objects can only be inserted/removed via CAD interface	Select to create and delete cables and devices in NX only. Default is cleared.
3D Objects can only be inserted or removed via CAD Interface	Select to create and delete nodal network segments in NX only. Default is cleared.
Display Equipment Approval	Select to display the Approved flag on each entry in the Equipment Schedule and Cable Types windows. Recommended. Clear to hide the Approved flags if you have established the status of all the equipment and cable types. Restriction If selected, you can only update this option using a script. In the Equipment Schedule and Cable Types windows: If the Approved flags are displayed, you can verify the approval status of the equipment and cable types, Yes or No. If the Approved flags are not displayed, created equipment and cable types are automatically set to approved and available. Caution If the Approved flags are displayed, the default approval status is No for new equipment and cable types created in Capital Cable Router Admin, which might impact the export of any associated design data.
Show Missing Corporate No. Warning	Select to display a warning message in the top right of the Cable Types window, if corporate numbers are missing. Default is cleared.
Stop Work History Required	Select to require a reason to be entered when a cable is set to Stop Work. Default is cleared.
Mismatched Usage between Cable Types and Cable	Select the method for handling differences between the Usage / Purpose assigned to a Cable Type, and the value recorded against a cable when Importing Design Data: Display Warning to User — Displays a message to warn of any mismatch. Update value automatically — Automatically updates the Usage / Purpose attribute to match the Cable Type value if the Cable Type is modified. Ignore Differences — Ignores any mismatch.
Allow Configurable Device Attributes for Area	Select to enable areas of different vessels in the project to be defined on each device. Default is cleared. Note Unavailable on single vessel projects and cannot be modified if a project is in production.
Cable Type Identifier	Specify the name to identify the Cable Type, for example, MUN, NSN, or Pattern No. Default is Cable Type.
Alteration Notice Identifier	Specify the name to identify Drawing Alteration Numbers. Default is DAN.
Site Installation Users	Select the type of user / team / clock number to record against installation records. Default is Project Users. If you select Clock No., ensure that a list of valid clock numbers is entered in the project reference data against the code CLOCKNO. Installation Teams are only available if the Production project default enabling installation teams is set. Installation Teams are stored in project reference data under the code ITEAM.
Allow Cancel/UnCancel of Devices	Select to enable devices to be set to cancelled, to prevent recording further progress of cables connected to the devices. Recommended. Note If selected, the system automatically enables you to clear devices that are already canceled.
Allow Cable Deletions	Select to delete unapproved cables in accordance with existing functionality. Recommended. Clear to prevent deleting unapproved cables. Only the Cancel action is available.
Permit Un-cancellation of Immature Cables	Select to un-cancel an unapproved cable, otherwise the cancellation status cannot be reversed. Recommended.
Permit Un-cancellation of Mature Cables via CC	Select to enable the option to un-cancel an approved cable using Change Control. Default is cleared.
Process Cables and Devices Simultaneously Using Wizard	Select to enable the Data Import wizard to create devices and cables using a single input file. Default is cleared.

Field	Description
Extra Pull Sheet cable restrictions	Select one or more restrictions to limit when you can set a cable to Pull Sheet Printed status: Spool cut has been recorded. Spool has been assigned. Default is cleared.
Pre-release Pull Sheet Minimum Route Status	Select the minimum route status for cables to be included in the Pre-release Pull Sheet: Design Routed and Approved (Default) Design Routed Unapproved Design Part Routed Unapproved Design Route Not Started See also Print Pull Sheet Form.

Field	Description
Allow Update of Notes	Select to update or delete Cable, Device, and Segment notes at any time. Clear to enable notes to be created only. Default.
Allow Update of Cable Notes if PSP/TSP	Select to prevent cable notes being inserted, updated, or deleted when the cable is at Pull Sheet Printed (PSP) / Termination Sheet Printed (TSP) status or higher. Default is cleared. Once the cable has been through change control and set back to a status below PSP / TSP, you can insert or update notes. A note displayed on a Pull Sheet / Termination Chart cannot be deleted regardless of any project default settings; however, you can hide the note for future printing.
Allow Update of Device Notes if TSP	Select an option to determine when you can update device notes, if connected cables are TSP status or higher: Yes — Add, update, or delete (hide) device notes regardless of the termination status of cables. Default. No, for All Cables — Add, update, or delete (hide) device notes provided all cables connected to the device have a termination status less than TSP. No, for Single Cable — Add, update, or delete (hide) device notes provided at least one cable connected to the device has a termination status less than TSP. Note This option assumes that the Connection Details Report is published for at least one cable and so amended notes will be included in that issue.
Assign IDs to Notes	Select the required note types to force entry of a unique identifier for each note: Cables Devices Segments Conduits The identifier can be based on format rules, which are typically a counter starting at 1 and incrementing by 1 for each note. When note IDs are used, the identifier is displayed with the notes printed on reports. Note If selected and notes with IDs are created, this option cannot be cleared. Default is cleared.

Field	Description
Allow Area Hierarchy	Select to enable a hierarchical structure to be applied to Area / Location codes. Note If selected, with a hierarchy in place, this option cannot be cleared. Default is cleared.
No. of hierarchical levels	Enabled only if Allow Area Hierarchy is selected. Specify a numeric level for the depth of the hierarchy. Note You cannot reduce the value below any existing hierarchy data already populated; however, you can increase the value. Default is 0.
Base Level Area Type	Name of the base level area.
Level 1 Area Type	Name of the parent area.
Level 2 Area Type	Name of the grandparent area.
Level 3 Area Type	Name of the great grandparent area.
