Field Description
General Tab
Start Node / End Node Use to specify start and end nodes for the new bundle: To use existing nodes, select from the dropdown lists, which list all structure nodes that are not populated with a connector. If you want to specify new node, type a Name into the field. If you don’t specify a Start Node / End Node, upon placing the bundle, the node is named according to any default names configured for the project in Capital Project Manager. Optional.
Dimension Specifies how the length of the bundle is derived. Choose from: Dynamic The bundle length is derived from the separation of the start and end nodes as placed on the diagram; moving either node results in the length of the bundle changing. Static You specify the bundle length in the field to the right of the Static option; this length will not change if the bundle is resized on the diagram. Optional.
Radial Only available when the Static bundle option is selected. Use to enter a length for the bundle in the field below, but upon placing the bundle it will be drawn to scale (the length of the bundle on the diagram being proportionate to the specified length value). It is not necessary to place the end node accurately; use the cursor to specify the angle at which the bundle leaves the start node and the end node is placed accordingly. Optional.
Option Expression Specifies the derivatives in which the bundle exists. To create or edit an option expression, click the ellipsis (...) button to the right of the field and use the Edit Option Expression Dialog Box. Alternatively, you can enter or modify an option expression directly within the field. Optional.
User FM Codes (This field is only available for Capital Harness Designer Modular see “User/Generated FM/PM Fields”)

Generated PM Codes (This field is only available for Capital Harness Designer Modular see “User/Generated FM/PM Fields”)
Variant Tab Used to create a variant length for the bundle. Multiple bundle variants can be added to the list.
Variant Expression Click the ellipsis (...) to open the Variant Expression Editor Dialog Box and select the option, Functional Variant Code (Capital Harness Designer Modular only) or Production Variant Code (Capital Harness Designer Modular only), that the variant length applies to. Mandatory.
Variant Length The length of the bundle as it should be represented within the specified Variant Expression(s). Mandatory.

Usage Notes

  • When defining a bundle on a full scale diagram, selecting the Static option results in the Radial option being selected; it is not possible to place a full scale bundle using the static method without the Radial option selected.

  • To delete a variant bundle length, select it and click the Delete button in the first column of the selected row, and then click OK to confirm.
