Automatic Bundle Layout
You can optionally apply an orthogonal bundle layout when creating a new diagram or working on an existing diagram.
This video demonstrates the functionality.
An orthogonal layout can be useful during the process of creating an initial layout for a formboard. With this functionality, you can easily consider the backbone of the Wire Harness during the formboard creation process.

Figure 148, shows an orthogonally laid out full scale diagram, created using the non-full scale harness in Figure 149 as a Reference Diagram.
The system automatically identifies the main trunk / backbone and lays it out in a straight line. Branches leaving the backbone are drawn at ninety degrees. More than two branches at a junction, fan out at a pre-defined angle configured in the Auto Layout Settings Dialog Box.

The option to apply an orthogonal layout is in the New Harness Diagram Dialog Box.

You can configure various settings including backbone discovery method and fan angle in the Auto Layout Settings Dialog Box.
You can also optionally configure the layout to respect any stored Bundle Junction Sequence using the “Preserve bundle sequences” check box.

You can apply an orthogonal layout to an existing diagram using the Auto-Layout action on the Home ribbon.

In all usages, before applying the orthogonal layout, the system:
- Straightens all bundles and removes the following along their length: All grip points (including grip points which were added to arrange looped bundles on diagrams).
All arcs.
- Stores all bundle graphical lengths (to be used when laying out the bundles).
After the orthogonal layout has been applied, the system:
Re-calculates the extents of all the bundles.
Applies style to re-position any decorations.
