Moving a Multi-Location
Component Node
You can re-position or move a multi-location component (MLC) node to a different bundle.
Restrictions and Limitations
You cannot place an MLC node where another MLC node exists.
If an MLC node is moved to an existing reference node, any properties specified on the MLC node are removed. If an MLC node is moved, creating a new reference node, the properties specified on the MLC node are preserved.
If another component is located on an MLC node: Move the component — The component and the MLC node are moved together.
Move the MLC node — The MLC node is moved only.
Procedure
Right-click the MLC node and select Move MLC Node:The cursor changes to .
Place the MLC node at the new location:If you click a node, the MLC is anchored at that node.
If you hover the cursor over a bundle, a tooltip displays the distance between the cursor position and the adjacent node in the direction of the start of the bundle.
Note If the new position violates any rules and constraints on MLC node repositioning, the cursor changes to indicate that you cannot position the MLC node at that point and must choose a different location.
Click to place the MLC node. The Node Position Utility Dialog Box is displayed.
Specify the values to fine‑tune the position of the MLC node created to anchor the MLC to the bundle.
Click OK to confirm the new position.
Results
- The MLC node is moved and the following objects and properties are preserved: Alignment of the MLC graphics to the MLC node. See also Aligning Multi-Location Node Component Graphics.
Order of the MLC node locations listed in the definition of the MLC. See also Add Multi-Location Node Component Dialog Box.
