Signal Map Dialog Box

for Inline Pair

To access: Right-click an inline half and select Signal Map. Alternatively, select an inline half, press the space bar and enter Signals.

Used to display which wires connect to which cavity in the inline pair. The fields in this dialog box are read‑only.

Objects

Field Description
Connectors Tab Displays each half of the inline pair. The table is split into two sections by the middle column, representing the two halves of the inline pair. To select which columns to display in the table, right‑click a column header and select / clear the column names as required.
Connector A unique identifier for the inline half.
Part The library part of the inline half (if a library part has been selected).
Cavity Count Specifies the number of cavities on the inline half.
Wire Info Tab Lists details of the wires connecting to the connectors from the Connector Mating table. Each row represents a wire. If no connector is selected in the Connector Mating table, all wires connecting to all of the connectors are displayed. If a connector is selected in one half of the Connector Mating table, wires connecting to only that connector are displayed. If you click the Select both halves () symbol in the middle of the Connector Mating table, both connectors are selected and all wires connecting to both of them are displayed. You can right-click a row for a wire and select Properties to display the properties for the wire, including its library part. To sort the table rows based on the contents of a column, click the column header. To select which columns to display in the table, right-click a column header and select / clear the column names as required.
Status Column Displays an error or warning symbol if there is an issue with the wire. Hover the cursor over the symbol to display a brief description of the issue.
Harness Harness to which the wire belongs.
Connector/Hole Connector to which the wire is connected.
Cavity/Backshell Connector cavity or backshell through which the wire passes.
Signal Signal carried by the wire.
Wire Name of the wire.
Multicore Multicore to which the wire belongs.
Part Library part assigned to the wire.
Spec Specification of the wire.
Material Material of the wire.
Color Color of the wire.
Variant Variant option expression for a variant wire.
Option Expression Option expression on the wire.
Module Code Module code of the wire.
To Object and pin to which the wire connects at the other end.
Signal Mappings Tab Lists the mapping of signals and wires between the cavities of connectors on each inline half. Each row represents a signal and wire mapping between connector cavities on both halves of the inline. The table is divided into two sections by the middle column, representing the connector cavities on either side of the inline.
Status Column (blank column header) Displays an error or warning symbol if there is an issue with the mapping. Hover over the symbol to display a brief description of the issue.
Connector Name of a connector used for the inline half.
Cavity Name of a cavity or backshell termination () on the connector in the Connector column.
Harness Name of the harness owning the connector in the Connector column.
Signal Specifies the signal traveling between the connector cavities from the Cavity columns.
Wire Displays the wire that is carrying the signal and is mapped to the connector cavity in the Cavity column.
Multicore Displays the name of the multicore to which the wire belongs.
Show Faceviews Hide Faceviews Opens or closes the Connector Faceview panel at the side of the Signal Map dialog box. The Faceview icons are unavailable if there are no accessible comment symbols for the connectors. See Viewing a Connector Faceview Symbol in a Signal Map. Note The Connector Faceview panel is not displayed by default when you first open a Signal Map dialog box. Your preference to show or hide the panel is preserved when you reopen the Signal Map dialog box.
Connector Faceview Panel Used select and display a connector Faceview symbol.
Connector Choose the connector to open a Faceview symbol.
Symbol Select the comment symbol to use as the Faceview. Each item in the list consists of a symbol library name and symbol name. If the connector has a library part with associated Faceview symbols in Capital Component Manager, the symbols are listed in the panel for selection. Note A Faceview symbol is created as a comment symbol with pins in Capital Symbol Designer. If the library part does not have associated Faceview symbols in Capital Component Manager, the panel searches for symbols (with the same name as the connector part number) in the symbol libraries specified in the “Connector View Libraries” project preference for Capital Wiring Integrator.
Faceview Window Displays the selected comment symbol. Note If you select a cavity in the Faceview, Signal Mappings tab, or Wire Info tab, it is highlighted in all of those locations. To highlight a cavity in the Faceview, the connector cavity name must match a datum name on the symbol. If you have a refined connector and therefore multiple Faceviews, the displayed Faceview symbol changes accordingly as part of the cross-highlighting.
