3D Cableway and Nodal Network Overview

Cables that connect source and destination electrical equipment (devices) are carried through the vessel along a 3D cableway / nodal network.

Cableways comprise cableway equipment, such as trays, racks, and ladders, which carry cables across the following sections of the vessel:

  • Blocks (sections of the hull)
  • Decks
  • Areas (rooms)
  • Zones / locations (groups of areas)
  • Penetrations (apertures between walls and decks)

The cableway also defines the network nodes where a cable can enter and exit the cableway (drop-off points), and the segments between the cableway equipment and the devices.

Once the cableway is created, you can export the 3D cableway design to convert it to a nodal network, providing the path used to guide the routing of cables in Capital Cable Router.

Has a sub-topic: Nodal Network.
