Adding an Instance of a Shared Wire, Net, Highway, or Single Line
You can add an instance of a shared conductor (wire, net, highway, or single line) to a diagram.
Prerequisites
- The shared conductor to add an instance of exists in the project. See Promoting a Wire, Net, Highway, or Single Line.
Procedure
- In the Shared Objects Browser: Right-click the shared conductor and select Add Shared conductor.
Double-click the shared conductor.
The cursor changes to , , , or depending on the type of shared conductor instance being added.
Click to place the first end of the conductor.
To define sections of the conductor, click where you want each section to end.
To place the end point of the conductor, double-click or click and then right‑click and selecting Commit.
Results
The shared object instance is added to the diagram.
In the Design Browser the new instance of the shared object is displayed as a child node of the shared object.
Note
When you create more than one instance of a shared object, cross-references are displayed next to the instances on the diagrams. See also Cross-References on Objects or Pins.
