Diagrams

A diagram is the drawing canvas upon which a harness is engineered. A design can have multiple diagrams, each linked to the same “design objects” (for example, connectors, bundles, and wires) but potentially displaying a different layout / view of the information.

You can configure different layouts using style sets and objects:

• The Style Set applied to each diagram. See also “Style Sets” in the Capital Diagram Styling User Guide.

• Any “diagram-specific” objects, such as dimensions, comment symbols and graphics that you have added to a diagram.

Diagram-specific objects display only on the diagram where you added them and are not automatically displayed on any other existing or new diagram in the design.

Any changes to the design objects are immediately reflected in all diagrams, whether they are open or not.

Note

The option to create multiple diagrams for a design is a licensed operation. If you do not have the required license, this option is unavailable.

Where there are multiple diagrams in your design, individual full edit / read-only access for each diagram is unavailable, and is only available for the design.

If you have opened one of the diagrams in edit mode:

• You can open the other diagrams in edit mode.

• You cannot open the other diagrams as read‑only.

If you have opened one of the diagrams as read‑only:

• You can open the other diagrams as read‑only.

• If you open another diagram in edit mode, the open read‑only diagram also becomes editable.
