Creating a Derivative Group

You can create Derivative Groups (using Capital Harness Designer, Capital Harness Designer Modular and Capital Project Manager) to generate a single “group” design, comprised of a selected subset of existing derivatives.

Prerequisites

• The required composite project is open.

Procedure

1. In the project browser, right-click the required composite design and select New Derivative Group (if you are using Capital Project Manager, select Create > Derivative Group.The New Derivative Group Design dialog box opens (the dialog box is named Create Derivative Group Design in Capital Project Manager).

2. Complete the design details as required.

3. Click the ellipsis (...) next to the Applicable Derivatives field.The “Select the derivatives to be grouped” dialog box opens.

4. Select the derivative designs to add to the group. Optionally use the Filter field to refine the lists. See also “Browser Tab and Dialog Box Filters” in the Capital Design Tools - Common Functions User Guide. Click OK.

5. Click OK.

Results

• The derivative group design is created and added to the Derivative Groups folder in the Project Browser.
