Internal Device Properties

in Wiring Views

When you generate a wiring view of a synthesized signal or multicore, devices in the wiring view are given the name of the slot in which they are located. Where a slot contains several devices (for example a fuse box), you may want to know which device is actually connected to the visualized signal, or whether multiple devices are connected to the same signal.

The system therefore adds particular properties to each device pin in a visualized diagram. You can style the display of those properties in the wiring view to make this information visible. The properties are:

  • VizDeviceName This has a value that is the name of the actual slot device mapped to this pin or cavity. For multiple devices mapped to the same cavity and carrying the signal, the value is a comma-separated list. You can use the Separator for multiple device names on a single prototype device pin project preference to change the separator from a comma (,) to another character. This is useful if your object names contain commas. See Project

  • VizDevicePinName This has a value that is the name of the actual slot device pin mapped to this pin or cavity. For multiple device pins mapped to the same cavity and carrying the signal, the value is a comma-separated list.

  • VizDeviceDetails This has a value that is the name of the actual slot device and pin mapped to this pin or cavity. The format is :

              For multiple devices and pins mapped to the same cavity and
                  carrying the signal, the value is a comma-separated list by default.
