ICD server configuration

Connectivity Hub can retrieve and save ICDs in one of two ways: via a live connection to Capital Device Modeler, or as local XML files.

Capital Device Modeler (REST integration)

By default, Connectivity Hub integrates with Capital Device Modeler via automated REST API calls. This requires:

  • User credentials — encrypted and stored in the user registry.
  • Capital Device Modeler server/port — the connection target.

Local XML fallback

ICDs may instead be saved as XML files to a specified location.

Important: if the local XML file location value is set, the system will not use the automated REST-API integration with Capital Device Modeler — the two modes are mutually exclusive per the configured setting, not a fallback-on-failure behavior. Choose one mode deliberately for your environment rather than assuming both are active.
