Specifying Filters for Generation of Slot Internal Connectivity

When generating partitioned diagrams, you may not want to generate slot internal connectivity signals for all slots. For example, you may want to do that only for power distribution boxes or grounds. A mode called Filter allows you to filter the specific slots for which you want to generate slot internal connectivity. You do this by specifying filter queries based on attributes, properties, plug-in queries, or user-defined queries. The system will then generate slot internal connectivity only for the slots identified by the filters. It will not generate it for other slots.

Note

For detailed information on the creation of user-defined and plug-in queries, see the “API, Plugin, and Web Service Documentation”.

For information on the creation of user-defined queries, see “Custom Query Expressions” in the Capital Project Manager User Guide.

Procedure

  1. When generating partitioned diagrams, select a Slot Internal Connectivity mode of Filter on the Options tab of the Generate Wiring Diagram Dialog Box.The Filter Selection Criteria Dialog Box displays. Figure 397: Filter Selection Criteria Dialog Box Note If you close that dialog box, you can open it again by clicking the ellipsis (...) button next to the Slot Internal Connectvity field.

  2. Select the entitites row and click the Add restriction () button.A row is added to the table.

  3. Double-click the cell in the Attribute Name column and select the type of slot for which you want to create a filter.Figure 398: Slot Type Selection A row is added below the slot type row.

  4. Decide what you want to use to create the filter: an attribute name, a property name, a user defined query, or a plug-in query. Double-click the cell in the new row in the Attribute Name column and select the attribute name, property name, the string User Defined Query, or the string Plug-in Query. If you want to...

Do the following:

Use an attribute or property name

Double-click the cell in the new row in the Attribute Name column and select the attribute or property name from the dropdown list. Figure 399: Attribute or Property Name Selection

Double-click the cell in the Operator column and select the appropriate operator.

Double-click the cell in the Value column and enter the appropriate value.

Figure 400: Example: Name Attribute In this example, the system will generate slot internal connectivity for a non-ground slot with a name attribute matching PDB.

Use a user defined query or plug-in query

Double-click the cell in the new row in the Attribute Name column and select the string User Defined Query or the string Plug-in Query. Figure 401: Query Selection

Double-click the cell in the Value column and select the query name.

Figure 402: Example: Plug-in Query Example In this example, the system will generate slot internal connectivity for any slots identified by the plug-in query IsLinkedToAnyNote.

  1. Repeat step 4 if you want to combine multiple filter criteria to a slot type.Repeat steps 3 and 4 if you want to create separate filters for the same slot type or another. Note See the Examples section below for details of system behavior for combined or separate filters.

  2. Click OK to return to the Generate Wiring Diagram dialog box and continue with the generation of the partitioned diagrams.

Examples

You can combine filter criteria under a slot type.

Figure 403: Combined Filter Criteria Example

In this case, the system will identify slots that have both Name = PDB and Harness = H01. It will generate slot internal connectivity for those harnesses. If a slot has Name = PDB but has Harness = H02, the system will not generate slot internal connectivity for it.

You can also specify filter criteria under separate filters for a slot type.

Figure 404: Separate Filters Example

In this case, the system will identify slots that have either Name = PDB or Harness = H01, or both. It will generate slot internal connectivity for those harnesses.
