Editing the

Attributes and Properties of a Connector

There are multiple ways you can edit the attributes and properties of a connector on a harness design.

Procedure

  1. Select one of the entities related to the connector to be edited: the structure node at which the connector is placed; the connector cavity table; the primary connector symbol; for modular connectors (housings), the position table.

  2. Either:Press Space Bar and enter Edit

Right-click the selected entity and select Edit Connector

Double-click one of the related entities

The Edit Connector Dialog Box is displayed. Note Depending on behavior settings specified at the Project level, you may be prohibited from creating or modifying certain object attributes and properties. These are displayed as read-only. In general, it is only Capital Logic Designer, topographical and electrical attributes and properties that are protected and these should be modified prior to import into Capital Harness Designer. Other harness design attributes and relationships, for example, plugging / sealing a connector may still be modified as required.

  1. Make any changes required to the connector attributes or properties.

  2. Click OK.

Results

  • The changes are saved. Note It is also possible to convert a single-cavity, not-on-BOM connector into a ring terminal. Click the relevant connector, press Space Bar and enter Convert to Ring Terminal, or right-click the relevant connector and select Convert to Ring Terminal from the context menu. See also “Ring Terminals”.
