Using Associated Bundles

You can use the Associate Bundles action on the Home ribbon, to add or remove bundles from insulation runs and the design data.

Restrictions and Limitations

  • If you add or remove an Associated bundle, the insulation graphic is not resized automatically. See Resizing an Insulation Layer on a Diagram to resize the insulation graphic to cover the Associated bundles and correct any DRC warnings. See also Associated Bundles Overview.

Prerequisites

  • An insulation run exists on a bundle. To create an Associated bundle, the bundle length must be longer than or equal to the main insulation. If the bundle is shorter, you cannot select the bundle to add to the main insulation.

Procedure

Determine the action you want to take:

Add a bundle to a main insulation to create an Associated bundle. Select an existing main insulation run in the Design browser or the diagram, and then select the Associated Bundles icon () from the Home ribbon. Alternatively, right-click and select Associate or Disassociate Bundles. The main insulation is highlighted on the diagram. The cursor changes to () to select the bundle to add. The cursor changes to () when you hover over a bundle that is valid to add Select the bundle to add to the main insulation. The bundle graphic is highlighted on the diagram. Perform one of the following to confirm adding the selected bundle: Right-click and select Commit or press Enter. Double-click anywhere on the diagram. The insulation graphic changes using the style set applied for Associated bundles, and the Associated bundle name is added under the main insulation icon in the Insulations folder. Alternatively, right-click and select Cancel or press Esc.
Remove an Associated bundle to disassociate the bundle from the main insulation. Select a main insulation which includes an Associated bundle in the Design browser or the diagram, and then select the Associated Bundles icon () from the Home ribbon. Alternatively, right-click and select Associate or Disassociate Bundles. The main insulation and the Associated bundle is highlighted on the diagram. The cursor changes to () to select the bundle to remove. The cursor changes to () when you hover over a bundle that is valid to remove. Select the Associated bundle to remove from the main insulation. The bundle graphic is unselected on the diagram. Perform one of the following to confirm removing the selected bundle: Right-click and select Commit or press Enter. Double-click anywhere on the diagram. The insulation graphic changes using the style set applied for standard insulations (if you remove all the bundles), and the Associated bundle name is removed from the Insulations folder. Alternatively, right-click and select Cancel or press Esc.
