Generating Change Impact Reports

You can generate reports to show the impact of a design change to a set of designs.

Prerequisites

• Required parent project is open.

Procedure

1. From the Workflow ribbon, click the Reports > Change Impact Reports action. The Change Impact Reports Wizard Dialog Box “Design Selection” page displays.

Do the following...

Generate the report for all designs in a build list.

Click the Before tab, select the Build List option, and then select the required build list (containing your pre-change designs) from the enabled dropdown list.

Click the After tab, select the Build List option, and then select the required build list (containing your post-change designs) from the enabled dropdown list.

Generate the report for selected child designs.

Click the Before tab, and select the Composite Design option.

Click the enabled ellipsis button (...), to open the Composite Design Selection dialog box. Select the required parent design (containing your pre-change designs), and then click OK. All the child designs of the selected parent display in the Available panel.

Use the Add / Remove controls to move the required child designs to the Selected panel.

Click the After tab and repeat the steps 1 to 4, to select the required (post-change) parent and child designs.

3. Click Next.The Report Configuration page displays

4. Select the check boxes to configure the fields you want to include in the Change Impact report. Click Next.The “Export Selection” page displays.

5. Specify a target folder location to save the report. Click Export.

Results

• The required report is created in the target folder.

• A link to the target folder displays on the Change Impact Reports tab in the Output window.
