Copying a Footprint to Use as a Template for a New Footprint
You can copy an existing footprint on a device to use a template for creating a new footprint on the same device. This saves specifying the details of the footprint again.
Procedure
- Select the device for which you wish to copy a footprint from the Component Device List window and click the edit icon to access the edit mode. The Edit Device dialog box is displayed.
- Click the > symbol in the Footprints field.
- Select the connector footprint to use a template for creating a new footprint on the same device.
- Click the Copy Footprint icon to add a new footprint to the footprint list. The new footprint with a unique name is added to the Footprint list. Note that the copy can only be a harness connector footprint.
- Edit the footprint name, connectors and mappings.
- Click the save icon to save your updates.
