Objects
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| General Tab | |
| Name | A unique label for the component (within this design). Type a name, or click the ellipsis (...) button to select a pre-specified name maintained in the project’s Object Type Information in Capital Project Manager. If this field is left blank, a default name is used, as maintained in the project’s Default Naming settings in Capital Project Manager. Optional. |
| Library Part | Specifies an association with a component in the library. Select the required library part number type (Internal, Customer, or Supplier) and click the ellipsis (...) button. The Part Selection Dialog Box is displayed to search for and insert a component from the library. Click the button to view details for the associated part. Click the button to remove the associated part. Optional. |
| Attributes | If a library part is selected, all attributes for which values can be specified against the library part are completed and set to read-only. |
| Assembly | Specifies the component is part of an assembly. Read-only. |
| BOM ID | Specifies a unique identifier to be displayed against the component in the Bill of Materials table, the Composite BOM table and in Bill of Material reports generated from Capital E/E Reporter. This attribute is only available when a library part is assigned. Optional. BOM IDs can be automatically prefixed in tables and reports based on project preferences you have configured. |
| Clip Mounting | Specifies the way the clip will be attached to the vehicle structure. The following types are available: Stud Mount The clip will be attached to a solid mounting on the vehicle structure. Edge Mount The clip will be attached to an exposed edge of the vehicle structure. Hole Mount The clip will be pushed through a hole drilled into the vehicle structure. Optional. |
| Clip Type | Specifies the way the clip will be attached to the bundle. The following types are available: Cable Tie The clip includes a self-locking plastic strap that can be fixed around a bundle. Taped The clip includes plastic extrusions that enable it to be taped into position on a bundle. Optional. |
| Color Code | Specifies the color of the component. Either type a color code into the field, or select a code from the dropdown list. Optional. |
| Color Description | Details the color code specified. Read-only. |
| Group Name | The Group Name to which this component belongs. Read-only. |
| Included On BOM | Specifies whether the component is ignored when generating a bill of materials (cleared) or included (selected). Also applies to any components associated with this one, see Included On BOM Setting. Optional. |
| Layer | Specifies the order of the component relative to other components with layer attributes at the same location on the bundle. Lower numbers indicate that the component is nearer the bundle wires. New layers are given numbers rounded to multiples of 10 by default; these can be overwritten. Note It is recommended that sufficient interval is left between layers for you to insert subsequent layers without renumbering. You can give multiple objects the same layer number, or specify 0 to not consider the order of the component. Optional. See also Component Graphic and Layer Order Matching. |
| Material Code | Specifies the material from which the component is made. Select a material code from the dropdown list. Optional. |
| Material Description | Details the material code specified. Read-only. |
| MCad ID | If the harness was bridged in from another application (such as Capital Harness Classic or an MCAD application), this field displays the component's unique identifier as derived from the external data. Read-only. |
| Offset Clip | Specifies whether the clip is mounted against the bundle (cleared) or whether the mounting aligns the clip adjacent to the bundle (selected). Optional. |
| Orientation | Specifies an orientation value for the component, used in styling to dynamically select an appropriate clocking symbol to be displayed. See the Diagram Styling User Guide for more information on conditionally displaying content based on a component attribute. Optional. |
| Part Description | Provides a description of the part. Read-only. |
| Part Revision | The revision number of the library component part. See also “Library Part Revision” in the Capital Component Manager User Guide. |
| Type Code | Offers a list of component type codes, as maintained in Capital Component Manager, used to filter the selection of components displayed when searching using the Part Selection Dialog Box. Optional. |
