Deleting a Variant Position
Connector
You can remove a variant position connector from a harness design. It is possible to delete both primary position connectors and variants independently.
Procedure
Select one of the entities related to the connector to be deleted: the connector cavity table; the primary connector symbol; for modular connectors (housings), the position table.
Either:Right-click the selected entity, select Edit Connector, and then select Delete on the Variant Positions tab.
Press Space Bar and enter Delete.
Right-click the selected entity and select Delete
Press the Delete key.
Results
The connector is removed from the design and from the Harness Design Browser. The other entities that are removed or modified as a result of the deletion vary depending on whether you are deleting a primary position connector or a variant:
- Primary Position Connector If no other components are anchored at the connector’s structure node, this is also removed.
Any wires terminated at the deleted connector become unterminated, but they remain within the design and terminated at the other end (if applicable).
All variants of the deleted primary remain on the design, but are now treated as independent, non-variant connectors. All variant wires created automatically when the variants were placed will remain.
- Variant Position Connector Just the variant connector is removed.
